Our Fairview tradition continues this year. The Holiday Shoppe Committee needs many hands to make this event a huge success. Please see the link below for volunteer opportunities. There are times during the day and at the night event. There is something for everyone. Please come on out and enjoy a few hours with the kids and meet some new friends too!

Due to the frigid forecast the Turkey Trot has been postponed until Thursday, November 20th at 10 am. Don’t forget to send in your permission slip and cans!
VBP stands for virtual back pack. This is the page on the school website where all notices and flyers are posted. To find it, visit the school website. On the right hand side of the home screen, you will see a tab for the virtual back pack (http://middletownk12.org/domain/1679). Once you click it, you will be taken to a screen that has tabs on the left by month. Click November and then scroll to find the Turkey Trot form (you may need to click on the “More” link to reveal all available forms and documents). Click the pdf link and then print the forms. Fill it out and return to school with your food donation.
The Middletown School District is looking for interested community members that would like to serve on the next Strategic Planning Committee. Attached is the letter from Central Office with all of the information. We hope that Fairview has some representation on this committee. It will be driving the future plans for our schools.
It’s Turkey Time! Fairview’s annual Turkey Trot will take place on Wednesday November 19th @ 9:30 am. For those that are new to the Turkey Trot, it is a Fairview tradition that also teaches our children the important message of helping to feed the hungry at Thanksgiving time. Each grade will have races down the soccer field. Each grade will have 3 girl and 3 boy top finishers. Mr. Feathers will also race the Fairview Turkey down the field for some fun. It is a great day to come on up to Fairview, stand on the sidelines and cheer on the students. It’s also a great photo opportunity. To enter, each child must sign the permission slip located in the VBP and “pay” the entry fee of 2 cans of food. The donated food will help feed families that are less fortunate. Let’s go Fairview!!!
Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping with Trunk or Treat. Our first experience with Trunk or Treat was very successful. We hope that the kids had a blast! It took a village to get this event off the ground. Thank you for your support! Have a safe and Happy Halloween this week.
Wednesday October 29th is Pretzel Day. All orders were due 10/22.
October 29th is also the Clothing Drive. Fairview receives funds for all clothing, accessories, toys, stuffed animals, blankets and towels that you have to donate. Clean out those closets and drop off your bags between 3:15 and 6:00 in the turn around, next to the building.
Friday October 31st is the Halloween Parade. Parents can line up outside to see the children parade around the school @ 1:15pm.
School will be closed Nov. 3rd- 7th. We will reopen on Nov. 10th.
This Friday is Trunk or Treat in the Fairview School parking lot. Along with Trick or Treating from car to car, there are many fun activities planned for all the children. Once you have some treats, head on back to the black top in back for the Cakewalk. Just a $1.00 a try to see if you are the lucky winner of a Spooky Halloween Confection! Enjoy the music and a little Freeze Dance too. Don’t forget to get a ticket to vote for your favorite class pumpkin and your favorite homemade scarecrow. Finally our Fifth Graders will go head to head to see who can make the best mummy in the Mummy Wrap Contest. Halloween is going to be Spooktacular at Fairview!!
