Just a quick reminder that Recycling Club is this Friday at 8:15 am. This is a change in time from that originally posted on the Fairview Website. All third to fifth graders are welcome to participate!
The attached document was presented at PTO President’s Council yesterday. It is also available on the district website. There is information about procedures for the test and if parents want their child to opt out. Any questions can be directed to Dr. Tackas or Ms. Pickus in central office.
As some of you or may not be aware of, the township has made a request to attach a repeater antenna to the roof of Fairview School. We were made aware of this by a community member in November and then again at the November BOE meeting. We have also discussed this at the November and December PTO meetings. We have made requests of the district business office to share more information about this plan. The BOE did not know many details and requested a meeting with a town official. They had planned that meeting for 2/23 which conflicts with a Fairview fundraising event. A request has been made through the district business office by our principal and PTO to reschedule the community meeting. Currently, we are waiting for information on when and where that community information session will be. As soon as we have that information, we will share it with the Fairview community. Below is the logistics that we received about this antenna.
The Township has requested permission from the Board to install a repeater antenna on the roof at Fairview Elementary School. The proposed antenna is a receive only radio antenna to be mounted on the brick wall of the second floor roof. The antenna would be secured to an 8 ft. pipe which would extend just above the second story roof line so that the antenna’s active area would not be blocked by the roof. The total length of the proposed antenna is 18 ft. The Township has stated to us that the antenna would not emit or transmit anything but radio waves.
The purpose of the proposed antenna is to provide improved emergency communication to the area around Fairview Elementary School, east of the Pine Street area. The Township reviewed other possible sites, including the firehouse on Route 35, before determining that Fairview Elementary School was the best location for the antenna.
It’s almost that time again!

Please see the attached flyer below. Fill out the form and send it to the Fairview School office in an envelope marked INCOMING KINDERGARTENER ORIENTATION. Please spread the word!
We are also looking for parent volunteers to help run the sessions. Please see the sign up to lend a hand.
It’s that time again! Children can send Owl Grams aka valentines to their friends or teachers. All you have to do is fill out a coupon for each recipient and send in a dollar for each. This year you can choose to send a Hershey bar or a Smencil ( a scented pencil) to your friends and family.
Does your child want to send one to someone that doesn’t attend Fairview? No problem! Just indicate that on the line where it says teacher.
So fill in a ticket for each person you are sending one to, put them in an envelope, enclose your cash or check made out to Fairview PTO and label the envelope OWL GRAMS. That’s it! Our own little cupids will do the rest. All Owl Grams will be delivered on February 13th.
If you have questions, please contact Lisette Sheehan at Lisette.firstname.lastname@example.org
