Next PTO Meeting

Incoming Kindergarten Orientation – Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to help with the Incoming Kindergarten Orientation on Tuesday, February 23rd and to donate snacks. Please sign up at Incoming Kindergarten Orientation 2016.

 

Do you have a child coming to Fairview next fall? What about a friend or neighbor? Please make sure they know about the Incoming Kindergarten Orientation program.

Books Wanted

The Book Swap will take place on March 3rd during Read Across America Week. Please drop off your books in the tub across from the office. For more information, please review the Book Swap flyer.

Cub Scouts Lego Derby

Do you have a son in grades 1-5 who might be intereted in joining Cub Scouts? Come to the Lego Derby on Friday, February 19th from 6:30-8:30pm! For more details, view the Cub Scouts Lego Derby flyer.

We can’t have a Book Swap without all of you!

Please drop off your gently used children’s books in the tub across from the office. Books should be appropriate for elementary school students. The Book Swap will take place during Read Across America Week, the week of February 29th.

Orders are due tomorrow (Tuesday, January 26th) for this Friday’s Pretzel Day. Send in your envelopes!

Blood Drive & Baked Goods Donations

Please come to the Fairview Blood Drive on Wednesday, January 27th from 3:00 – 7:00pm. You can also support the Blood Drive by donating baked goods. You can drop your baked goods off on Wednesday to Mrs. DeSpirito during school or at dismissal. Please contact Mrs. DeSpirito if you have any questions about the blood drive.

District Presentation: The Ugly Truth about Heroin and Prescription Drugs

Middletown High School North on January 21st at 6:30pm

 

The Middletown Township Public School District will host a presentation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office on The Ugly Truth about Heroin and Prescription Drugs. The district’s middle school and high school student assistance counselors will also discuss trends in marijuana and alcohol use among teens. There will be question and answer opportunities during the program. This presentation is recommended for all parents in the district as well as students in the middle and high schools. The knowledge gained from this informative program will better prepare you to keep your children safe and drug free.

PTO Meeting Rescheduled

Due to the district meeting described above, the PTO Meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 28th at 7:00pm.

Scrip Gift Card Program Orders Due

Gift card orders are due this Friday, January 22nd. This is a great opportunity to purchase Barnes & Noble gift cards to use at our B&N fundraiser on February 2nd. If you purchase a B&N gift card from Scrip, then the PTO receives 9% of its value. Then, when you make a purchase at our fundraiser using the gift card, the PTO receives a percentage of sales from B&N. It’s a win-win situation!

Weekly Reminders

Skate Night & Bake Sale

Skate Night is tomorrow, December 7th from 5:40-7:40pm at Middletown Ice World. Walk-ups are welcome! The cost of $10 per person includes skate rental and ice time. Don’t forget to bring your child’s bike helmet.

Scrip Gift Card Program

December Scrip orders are due on Friday, December 11th. Gift cards will be available for pick-up on Friday, December 18th. This is a great opportunity to order gift cards for holiday presents! Check your list and see what gift cards you still need to purchase.

Fairview Adopt a Family

Fairview School has adopted several Middletown families this year. Each grade level is adopting one family. Click Fairview Adopt A Family, then click your child’s grade to view specific items requested for that family. Enter your name next to the item that you have purchased. Send your gift to school by Monday, December 14th. Thank you for your generosity.

Sock & Mitten Tree

Please consider sending in new socks, mittens, gloves, or hats for the Sock & Mitten Tree. Canned goods are also being collected. All contributions will be given to “Middletown Helps Its Own”. Donations can be sent to school until Thursday, December 17th.

Holiday Shoppe – Final Ad – Take a Sneak Peek!
  • Schedule: Wednesday, December 9th and Thursday, December 10th. Come in and help your child shop…Holiday Shoppe Class Schedule.
  • The night shopping event is Wednesday, December 9th from 5:00-8:00pm. Popcorn Palace orders will be available for pick-up.
  • Ugly Holiday Sweater Day: Wednesday, December 9th.
  • Volunteers Needed: Volunteer for a time period and a job at Holiday Shoppe Volunteer Signup.
  • Gift Wrap Wanted: Donate old gift wrap, bows and ribbons to the Holiday Shoppe. Place donations in the box across from the office.
