Garden Maintenance

Now that summer has arrived, the Fairview garden needs some support. We are asking families or groups (boy scouts, girls scouts or other interested groups) to volunteer to water and weed. Each sign up begins on a Saturday and is for one week. The person who signs up is responsible for overseeing the garden maintenance that week. Please help take care of our garden by signing up at SignUpGenius: Fairview Garden Maintenance.

The Fairview Garden is our school garden. Families and staff should feel free to stop by Fairvew and harvest the fruits, vegetables and herbs throughout the summer.

We are still in need of volunteers! To quote Barb Cassin, one of our wonderful, dedicated volunteers:

Top 10 reasons to help inflate balloons at Field Day:
10. You get to school early and get the BEST PARKING
9. There are lots of little tasks that kids can do, bring them with you to help
8. During the day every time you hear a balloon pop, you’ll feel a deep satisfaction
7. You can recruit 2-3 friends to help, and your ‘team’ can have a bonding experience trying to fill the most bags of balloons
6. The sound of air compressors sounds like “Victory in the morning!”
5. You get to watch ‘the parade of watermelon’ in the Owl’s Nest
4. The occasional popped balloon is exhilarating
3. If we have enough people and finish early, you’ll have time to read or write silly posts on FaceBook
2. The sight of 40 bags of inflated balloons being marched out to the fence is awesome
But the #1 reason to volunteer to help with Field Day balloon inflation is …
1. You might get a really cool nickname like ‘The Balloon Wrangler’ from ‘The Glen’!
