Don’t forget to hand in your Reading Log for February on Monday. If you need a copy of the log here is the link http://www.middletownk12.org/Page/6906. Between Barnes and Noble and the Book Swap, everyone should have lots of new books to read! Your child even got an extra twenty minutes to add to their logs for listening to their teachers read at B&N. Each month the class with the highest collective minutes wins a great class party.

We are excited about our visit with author Chris Grabenstein on March 6th. He will be visiting Fairview to talk about writing and share his newest book Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library. All of the students in grades 3, 4 and 5 already received a copy of the book compliments of the PTO. We hope that the students and teachers will start reading the story so that they can solve the puzzle and ask Chris some questions. Happy Reading!
We have been advised by the District that a Good Neighbor meeting has been scheduled with Middletown Township on March 9th in the evening at Fairview School to discuss the proposed installation of a repeater antenna. An exact time has not been decided and we will send a follow up email when it has been determined.
The Township is supposed to have a packet of information available prior to the meeting with details on the installation. That packet will be posted on the BOE website and we will share the link when it is made available.
Welcome to Wacky Wednesday. We are halfway through our reading celebration week. If you have a chance please stop by and take a look at our “Oh the places you’ll go” wall. Each class has their own hot air balloon with their class picture on it. If you can’t make it into school then please ask your children about it and see if they can tell you which staff members are holding onto the balloons for dear life! Special thanks to Lori Reid, Dawn Adamo and Donna Ferreira for all their crafty artistic mastery in putting this great display together! Please continue to send in your gently used books for the book swap on Friday!
Thank you for joining us tonight at Barnes and Noble. Just wanted to share a couple of photos of some cuties picking out something to read! If you couldn’t make it to the store event you can visit BN.COM/bookfairs to support us online from 02/23/15 to 02/28/15 by entering Bookfair ID 11551629 at checkout.
We hope that all the children (and parents) will donate some gently used books. All classes will visit the swap on Friday. Every child will go home with at least one new book to read. This event was a huge success last year but it requires everyone’s participation. Dig through your bookshelves and find those selections that you are finished with and send them on in. (You can replace with some new selections from Barnes and Noble Day too)
If you would like to join your child, here is the class schedule.
The more that you read
The more things you will learn.
The more that you learn
The more places you”ll go.
Please help us take the journey in reading by celebrating Dr. Seuss all next week. We will kick of the week on Monday with our Barnes and Noble Day. This a favorite of many of our Fairview families. Come listen to teachers and staff read aloud some favorites and have some time to catch up with some friends.
Tuesday is funny hat or crazy hair day. You choose!
Wednesday is wacky clothes day
Thursday is time to wear some silly socks.
Friday we wrap it up with Pajama Day and our Book Swap. Please send in those gently used books so that everyone can go home with a book or two. There are red bins outside the office for all donations.
Please join us on Monday, February 23rd at Barnes andNoble to celebrate a night of reading!
